Fundis House
With a wooden structure and a split-level layout, the design for Fundis House sets a new standard in workplace design. HofmanDujardin designed both the architecture and interior of the innovative office building in Gouda, Netherlands. High sustainability goals have been integrated from the first sketch which reflects the client’s ambition to create a visibly healthy and eco-conscious building.
The future user of the office is a healthcare organization consisting of multiple smaller companies. Therefore, stimulating collaboration and encounters between different people and teams is key. This is embedded in the split-level concept that ensures continuous and dynamic connections between the floors and its different companies.
Continuous and dynamic connections
The office has a vibrant ground floor with shared facilities. From the welcoming entrance zone with a vitality bar, a grandstand staircase leads towards the working café. A variety of meeting and training rooms are open to staff and visitors.
Centered in the building, an inviting route connects the office floors. These feature shared spaces for collaboration around the central circulation zone and flexible office spaces along the façades. The wooden columns and ceilings form the basis for a healthy and fresh interior, embellished with a number of colors that indicate and help visitors navigate the different companies.
