HofmanDujardin worked with Fresch Real Estate to develop the empty backyard of Verrijn Stuartweg 30 in Diemen into a commercial building for creative businesses. The design includes 6 rentable business units across 2 levels. The ground floor is accessible by vehicles, making the business units here perfect for production and manufacturing spaces. The upper floors are designed as office and workshop spaces.

In contrast with the tough aesthetic of the industrial estate, the facade of the commercial building is made of timber cladding, helping the site stand out from its surroundings with a softer and warmer appearance. External shed roofs establish an industrial character, reflecting its landscape whilst accentuating the individuality of each business unit. The slanted shape makes space for sunlight to shine through into a shared common garden, which looks south to the waterfront and stimulates the communal aspects of the site.
