Journey Offices

A former department store in Arnhem’s city center was redeveloped by HofmanDujardin into a multi-tenant office building with shared facilities. Alongside private offices and shared workplaces of various scales, the building features a series of interconnected spaces that can be used communally by all renters.

Due to its original function as a department store, the building lacked daylight at the core of its vast floor plan and had few connections between its individual spaces. This inwardly focused world was completely transformed into a bright and well-connected office. Multiple new skylights and voids with staircases form new connections and allow daylight into the center of the building.

Enhancing color concepts

Each floor has a unique character which is enhanced by the color concept. A sparkling yellow coffee bar at the street side marks the novel entrance to the three office floors above. On the blue-toned first floor, a restaurant and game area invite employees to take a break. A grandstand staircase for presentations leads to the second floor with a tea bar. The green top floor is equipped with library tables and connects to a shared roof terrace.
