Rotterdam Building
The Rotterdam building can be found in the center of the harbor city, and the concept design for its renovation is based on sustainable revitalization. Responding to the building’s original characteristics, a series of interventions bring new life to the Rotterdam Building.
On the first two floors, new entrances and additional public programs embed the building in its surroundings. A series of voids connected by a climbing wall transport the liveliness of the city center into the interiors. By greenifying the flat roofs and making them accessible to future renters, the office floors gain unique additional value. They also contribute to the retention of rainwater and help to prevent the city center from overheating on warm days.
