PoolHouse Amsterdam
PoolHouse is located in the southeast of Amsterdam and originated from a modernist masterplan. This upcoming area has plenty of open space and makes room for a bold densification strategy. As a study for a new dwelling project, Poolhouse Amsterdam sets an ambitious goal to enhance the diversity of the area. With a variety of apartments, including doubleheight duplex units, new types of homes are introduced in the neighbourhood.
The building is shaped in a way to create efficient floor plans whilst leaving space for a wide sidewalk as a qualitative shared urban space. All parking is solved underground. Most remarkable is the collective pool that punctures the building’s volume and courtyard. This offers a strong character to the block to signify the revitalization of the area.
